Murrumbateman to Art Galleries, Quaint Villages, and Wineries of the Yass Valley - Day 2

Before hitting the road, browse through rustic home wares and antique shops, and then head towards Yass for the day. Spend the afternoon bird watching and walking around Lake George, where the lake mysteriously empties and fills all on its own. In the past, it has disappeared virtually overnight and its waters can be treacherous while at its fullest. Enjoy a bite to eat in quaint Gundaroo, a village from the 19th century with traditions still used today. Visit the lock-up of the 1830’s police department, and then browse through the treasure chest of antiques, collectables, and art this town has in store. Relax with a lunchtime picnic beside Yass River or taste the award winning meals from the restaurant in town. Soak in the romantic, rustic settings you pass on your way back to Canberra.
